Introduction to Rats
When I told my family that I signed up for a psychology class that required me to train a rat, they all gave me a look of disgust. I shared their same concerns. The only rats I ever encountered were the home invaders and the ones from Ratatouille, and the rats from Ratatouille do not exist. I always imagined rats as pests or sewer creatures that carried disease. Then I met the albino lab rats on our first day of class and my opinion of them changed. They did not appear to be the plague ridden critters I thought they would be. They seemed more like the pets on display at a pet store. I still would not want a rat in my dorm room, but I see that rats have a more appealing side to them than I originally thought. I was surprised when I held one for the first time. The rats were softer than I thought they would be. My lab partner, David, and I kept thinking of names for our future rat.
